Statement from Kevin Brown, Factory_OS CEO

A new company backed by a private-equity consortium has acquired certain assets, including the intellectual property, trade name, backlog, production facility, and catalog of Factory_OS, through an asset purchase transaction.

Key executives and employees are joining the new company, ensuring continuity in the mission of addressing the ongoing housing crisis, by delivering quality factory-built multifamily housing faster, more efficiently, and more sustainably through the integration of technology, industrialization, and labor.

The company has renewed Factory_OS’ commitment to the Northern California Carpenters Union, utilizing union labor, supporting living wages and benefits, and providing robust training programs. The strengthened team brings years of experience in factory-built housing and manufacturing, having developed and refined the Factory_OS product, delivering 3,000 homes across 28 buildings since 2017, to execute new housing projects immediately.

Well capitalized and backed by a strong balance sheet, deep bonding capacity, and robust industry relationships, the company is positioned to enhance its manufacturing processes significantly. The company is also expanding its innovation efforts to further improve our technological development and project quality.

The company is excited to continue this great work and looks forward to working with Factory_OS’ long-time customers to fulfill the potential of factory-built housing.
